September - December

Each month

You will find ideas to help you develop programme themes around the Cheshire Challenge 2012. The aim is simply to inspire you to try different ideas and don't forget that to achieve maximum points you need to find ways of working with other sections including your District Explorer Scouts, Scout Network and Scout Active Support. Remember they need your help to gain maximum points so it's a "win-win" situation. Have fun.

Learn about charities in England

  • Charity begins at home - is there a local charity that could benefit from your help?  It doesn't have to be all about raising money - donate something far more valuable - your time!

  • Find out what your local charity shop needs most and hold a collection for them

  • Is there an area of your community that relies on volunteers?  Could you help them?

 Learn about the British Legion

  • Can you help with Poppy Selling?  Look at http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/support-us

  • Help at a local senior citizens centre - listen to some of the stories first hand from the veterans - organise to go back and sing Christmas Carols next month.

  • Take part in your local Remembrance Day parade - make sure you look very smart and wear your poppy with pride.

  • Go on a group visit to the National Arboretum http://www.thenma.org.uk/index.aspx
