Cheshire Scouts AGM 2024

The County President, County Chair of the Trustee Board and County Lead Volunteer invite you to the Annual General Meeting of Cheshire County Scout Council. Registration and refreshments will open at 7pm.  We’re delighted that Elizabeth Henderson, Chief Volunteer for England will be joining us.

From M53

Use J10 for Cheshire Oaks, keep left to go straight on at the traffic lights, turn right at the next roundabout. Continue straight over the next roundabout and then turn left at the next roundabout. Continue past the Ellesmere Port Sports Village (EPSV) and straight over the 2 mini roundabouts. Whitby Park is found on the left hand side with the entrance just after the traffic lights.

Free parking is available in the large car park here, then follow the From Whitby Car Park directions.

From Chester

Go along the A41 until you reach Backford lights and turn right on to A5032 towards Ellesmere Port, continue along this road for 2.5miles until you reach a large traffic light junction with the police station to your right, turn right here, proceed through the next set of lights and Whitby Park is on your right after Thamesdale.

From Whitby Park car park (3-5 minute walk)

Walking from the car park, look to the entrance/exit of the car park and you will see a road to the left, walk down here and Theatre Porto can be found at the end of the left hand fork in the road. Look for the Scout Flags. There is a small car park here for those who need to park close by.

If Whitby Park is full, further parking is available at the Civic Hall car park on Wellington Road.

There is no vehicle access from Park Drive

Public Transport

Bus

The number 1 (Liverpool to Chester), 2 (Ellesmere Port to Runcorn) , and X1 (Liverpool to Chester) buses serve Whitby Park and there is a bus stop right outside the park.

Train

The nearest train station is Ellesmere Port which is a 20 minute walk from Theatre Porto.

Trains are operated by Merseyrail and do not support mobile tickets.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
