Explorer Belt Send Off

We are incredibly excited and proud of the sixty six young people and adult leaders who are participating in this incredible adventure and award.

To celebrate the road to Maastricht, Dave Hopley our County Commissioner invites young people, mentors, parents, District Commissioners and select guests to celebrate the Cheshire Contingent’s departure at a special event on Sunday 16 July 2023 at Winsford Academy. Each Explorer Belt Team will give a presentation to parents and guests. This a special moment for both units and IST before their departure and Cheshire Scout’s County President, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, Lady Redmond (Alexis) MBE, will also be in attendance to wish them well.

Participants and Mentors will need to wear Scout uniform i.e.

  • Uniform shirt/blouse
  • UK Necker

NB: Official contingent photographs will be taken with the Lord-Lieutenant at this event. So please coming looking your best!

Guests who would normally wear uniform are encouraged to do so.

Arrival and registrations are from 13:00, refreshments will be available. We will aim to be finished by 16:00

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
