Hill Walking Winter Skills Training or Assessment

Between: 7th February 2025 - 9th February 2025 Location: Nethybridge Hotel Sections: Adult Volunteer, Activity Permits

To take young scout members out into Terrain 1 or 2 when there is ice or snow on the ground or in the forecast, you need a winter hill walking permit. So, if you might like to take your Explorers walking on Shining Tor with a bit of snow on the ground, this is the course for you. We teach and assess in the wilds of Scotland so we can get a good chance of snow, but this course is essential if you would like a winter permit for England and Wales.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
