Not your usual AGM – join us in the woods.
We’re pleased to invite you to the Cheshire Scouts Annual General Meeting (AGM) — an important moment in our year, and this time, something a little different.
Our County President, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, together with the County Chair and County Lead Volunteer, warmly invite you to attend.

What to expect
This year, we’re hosting our AGM at one of our District’s Scout Activity Centres, creating an evening that is not only about the formal business of the County, but also an opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate together.

- A chance to celebrate the achievements of the past year
- Insights from the North West Region Lead Volunteer, sharing perspectives from across UK Scouting
Whether you’re a long-standing member or newer to the County, we hope you’ll join us for an engaging and enjoyable evening.

Directions
From Frodsham
From Frodsham take A56 past Netherton Hall Pub turning left on to Tarvin Road (B5393). After just over 1 mile fork left on to The Ridgeway. The campsite is 0.75 mile on the right.
From Chester/Wirral
Coming from the Chester/Wirral direction continue eastward along the A56 through Helsby passing Helsby High School on your left and an ATS garage on the right. Turn right immediately after this garage and take the narrow road to link up with the Tarvin Road. Turn right at the T-junction and continue along Tarvin Road as described above to pick up The Ridgeway.
From Northwich
Approaching from the Northwich direction along the B5152/B5153 turn left just past Five Crosses Church on to Manley Road. Carry on up the hill and after about 2.5 miles turn right onto Commonside, then first right on to The Ridgeway. Queen Charlotte’s Wood is about 0.25 miles on the left.
Travel & Arrival
Parking at Queen Charlotte’s Wood is limited, so please car share where possible.
The venue is also accessible by train via Frodsham, Helsby or Mouldsworth stations, followed by a short taxi journey. If travelling by rail, we recommend booking taxis in advance.
A one-way traffic system will be in operation:
- Enter via the top gate on The Ridgeway
- Exit via the main entrance at the lower end of The Ridgeway
Please follow directions from the car park team on arrival.
Accessibility
Guests with accessibility needs may either:
- drive down to the lay-by; or
- be dropped off closer to the Hideaway before the vehicle is parked.
Please speak to the parking team on arrival if you require assistance.
What to Wear
This is an outdoor venue, so please dress appropriately for the weather and ground conditions. We recommend:
- sturdy footwear;
- warm/waterproof layers;
- your necker.
Refreshments
Tea and coffee will be available on arrival, with pizza served following the formal AGM proceedings.
A mobile bar will also be available during the evening serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (card payments only). Please plan ahead if driving.
