Cheshire Cub Scouts

Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.

You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

Want to join Cubs in Cheshire?
We offer a group finding facility on the Cheshire Scouts website. All you need to do is enter your postcode and it will show you a list of groups in order of distance from the postcode you have entered. This will allow you to see where the most local groups are to your area. You can access the group finder by clicking here.

The Chambonauts

3, 2, 1… Blast off!

The countdown to Cheshire’s space-themed International Jamboree has begun! Run ever four years, Chamboree attracts over 5,000 Scouts and Guides from all over Cheshire. Tatton showground buzzes with excitement and activity and Explorer Scouts get to camp on their own separate subcamp and engage in a jam-packed week of activities, events and challenges.

The Chamboree Programme Team have put some activities together to get you excited for the big event! We’ve recommended the age range suitability of an activity, but don’t hesitate to check out the activities and their suitability for your programme! To help leaders we’ve provided links to the Scout & Guide badges.

If you’ve got any more ideas to offer, we’d love to hear from you. Share them by emailing our Chamboree Programme Team.

Why not share your photos & videos with us! @Chamboree #Chambonauts

JOTA-JOTI Jamboree

15th – 17th October 2021

JOTA-JOTI is about the 21st century skills you can learn in Scouting and the values of global citizenship. The event is open to Scouts around the world, enabling young people to connect and communicate with each other using the Internet and amateur radio. JOTA-JOTI engages youth in educational activities that build teamwork, cross-cultural understanding and skills for the future.

Cheshire Scouts invite you to take part in this special event this October. Scouting is a global movement and we welcome as many Scouts as possible to join us in this unique international discovery weekend. We have prepared an activity pack, full of ideas and things to consider in order for you to host your very own event either at home for yourself or with a local Colony, Pack, Troop, Unit, Group or District! We recommend seeking the support of your local ADC and District Commissioner if setting up a group event. But why not let the county team know too and we can visit during the weekend!

Participation in the event will count towards young people’s award and badge work.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
