Transport

We ask that all groups travel by mini-bus or car share where possible and drive up to the site to drop off, parking for the day is available for leaders.

Before the event groups will receive:

  • Map of the event
  • The timetable of zones for their group

Lunch

Lunches will be had on the Zones you are currently on. This means you may need to bring something to sit on the floor where chairs and benches are unavailable.  You’ll need to carry everything with you, so be prepared and pack light!

Please keep paths, marked emergency access and other signposted areas clear.

Welfare, Safety & Security

Welfare & Safety

Tatton Park does not get signal across the whole site but we do strongly suggest you print out any medical and in-touch details you may need for your young people. Ensure these are kept with you in a secure place through the day.

It’s really helpful to ensure that young people have or know their group name so we can locate them as quickly as possible if we need to.

We will have first aid members and a designated First Aid tent; however, volunteers are responsible for the young people in their care and should bring a small group first aid kit for minor injuries.

There are no fridges or freezers available to store food and drink. If medication is needed to be kept cold, we can do this, just let us know.

Please ensure all adults are familiar with the Young People First code (Yellow Card).

Please be considerate of others wishes when taking photos.

Security

Please always know the whereabouts of your young people during the event.

The centre is mostly fenced but does  various access points which may not be locked due to other users.

Please remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to a member of staff.

Keep valuables at home if you can and keep anything you do bring in-sight or on your person.

On-site Shop

The shop will be selling small souvenirs, gifts, sweets, cold drinks etc.

Site Information

No pets, other than assistance animals, are permitted on site.

Smoking is not permitted in front of young people, and only in designated smoking areas. No alcohol is permitted into the event.

Bins are located across all areas of the site. Please help us to recycle by putting dry, clean mixed recyclables into the large green bins; and any other waste in the black bins or litter bins.

Toilets will be cleaned regularly by our team, and hand soap and toilet roll are provided. Accessible toilets are available.

Our event staff are volunteers who have given up their time to make your event safe and enjoyable. Please keep the Scouts values in mind when interacting with others.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
