Cheshire Scouts Celebrate Over 300 Young Achievers
Cheshire Scouts gathered at Parr Hall Warrington, 16 November 2025 for Celebrating Success 2025, an inspiring event recognising the achievements of over 300 young people who have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and #SkillsForLife.
Hosted by Toby Abbott and Grace Wheeler, the celebration highlighted the incredible commitment of Scouts and Explorers across the County. This year’s achievements include:
- 208 Scouts achieving the Chief Scout’s Gold Award
- 94 Explorer Scouts earning Platinum and Diamond Awards
- 30 Young Leaders completing their training and receiving the Young Leader Belt Buckle
- 12 young people gaining a BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development
- Nine King’s Scout Awards, the highest honour in Scouting
- Dozens of YouShape Awards, recognising youth-led Scouting.

The event also honoured Jervis Brown, recipient of the Gilt Cross for Gallantry, for his courageous actions in rescuing his grandfather after a fall into a river. Jervis said:
“There was no time to hesitate — Scouting taught me to to stay composed and act quickly — so I did.”

Special guest Lady Redmond, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, presented awards alongside County Lead Volunteer Dave Hopley, who said:
“Today we’ve celebrated over 300 young people who truly embody the spirit of Scouting — courage, commitment, and making a difference. Cheshire Scouts are ready to take on the world.”
The event also celebrated global adventures, including Cheshire Scouts’ participation in the World Scout Moot, and personal achievements such as running the London Marathon, performing with the National Scout and Guide Orchestra, and representing Cheshire at Windsor Castle’s Colour Party.
