Cheshire Scouts Newsletter – 13 December 2020

We’ve made it to the finish line!
We did it. Over the last six weeks, young people and their families, volunteers, and former Scouts joined one of four teams to #RaceRoundTheWorld.

Collectively, they’ve travelled over 130,000 miles round the world, learning about different customs and cultures along the way through our range of globetrotting activities. They’ve also raised over £200,000 through sponsorship and a grand total of over £250,000 including direct donations, making a world of difference to the Scout Groups hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis.

The race may be finished but there’s still time to get your donations in to help us reach our magic £300,000 target. Remember every pound and penny raised will be match funded, too..

Shipton ESU & Hill House – Christmas 2020 Virtual Poem

Shipton ESU in South West Cheshire are partnered with Hill House, a local residential care home for people with physical disabilities. This week, their Explorer Scouts and leaders hosted a Christmas concert for the staff, residents and their families (many of whom haven’t seen loved ones in months).

This is their joint creation: a virtual rendition of the Christmas poem “A Visit From St. Nicholas”.
