VE Day Celebrations #VEDAY75
Under normal circumstances Scouts would be at the heart of local community events. Clearly these are challenging times but we never cease to be amazed at the creative talents and inspiration of Scouters in Cheshire. So Friday turned into a fantastic collection of activities to honour the 2 minutes silence in the morning and then to party in the afternoon.

In case you missed anything here are some of the highlights starting with a collection of some of the pictures you posted on social media;

Some went the extra mile and produced some very special videos. Here you can watch the Alderley Scout Band’s Last Post;

And Chester Gang Show’s Tribute;

Of course our Chief Scout, Bear Grylls was a serving officer and he set a message to all Scouts;

Knutsford Guardian printed an article featuring Tony Leadbeater reliving his personal experiences of VE Day in Knutsford. Read the article here.

Chester Cathedral produced a really good service for the day that we shared with everybody on the day but if you missed it you can still watch it here.
A really good Civic VE Day service from The Lord Mayor of Chester, The Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council and Chester Cathedral was produced, that we shared on the day, but if you missed it- you can still watch it here.

Well done everybody!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
