We are delighted to announce the names of those receiving awards in the St. George’s Day Awards List featured in this months edition of Scouting Magazine. They have already received the County Commissioner’s personal congratulations and celebrating their achievements at the County Awards Dinner on Sunday 25 March. To all the recipients many congratulations and thank you for your contribution to Scouting in Cheshire.

Silver Wolf

The Silver Wolf is the unrestricted gift of the Chief Scout and is only awarded for service of a most exceptional nature. It is not normally awarded until at least a Silver Acorn has been gained. In practice this means that it is seldom awarded for less than 30 years service.

Silver Acorn

The Silver Acorn is not normally awarded until after at least an Award for Merit has been gained and a further five years’ service has been completed. Thus, it is seldom awarded for less than 20 years service, which should be specially distinguished and appreciably better than outstanding.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
