Cheshire Scouts Newsletter – September 2019

Watching all the social media channels it is clear that Cheshire Scouts have had a great summer camping, embarking on expeditions and generally have fun. It has also been the World Scout Jamboree year, as you will have seen from the photos and videos we’ve shared of the amazing time the 81 Cheshire participants have had.

To make sure we capture the impact that World Scout Jamboree’s have on individuals we are in the process of recording a special video, made by the Cheshire contingent featuring pictures, video clips and interviews. It will be released in October and below is a picture of the film crew on the recording day.

There are still some very important events this year and there are some very exciting developments already announced for 2020.

Celebrating Success, Sun 17 November 2019

Changes include flexibility with team sizes, a new online booking system to illuminate most of the paperwork and one base camp on Saturday evening with activities and an entertainment programme.
There are some important dates for you to put into your diary.

  • Cheshire Hike dates: 4th-5th April 2020
  • Bookings open in November 2020
  • Cheshire Hike launch (information session) on Sunday 13th October 2019, 2-4pm, Winsford

CuBe 2020

CuBe 2020 will be the most exciting joint event for Beavers and Cubs ever held in Cheshire. It’s a weekend camp 1st – 3rd May 2020 to be held on the Cheshire Show Ground and brought to you by the Chamboree team. Leaders just turn up and have fun with your Beavers and Cubs.

This includes a complete programme of activities and evening entertainment that will include a completely new circus show for the camp. They will be bringing their BIG TOP with performers from around Europe.

The camp will also feature a special arena show on Sunday afternoon and the star attraction will be THE IMPS motorcycle display team. From the sound of revving engines to the awe of a billowing fire jump and the suspense of a multiple motorcycle combination ‘cross-over’ routine, THE IMPS will have you mesmerised by an unmissable display of discipline and skill. Furthermore, you will be stunned to learn that the youngest performer is only five years old!
