Join our County Programme Team

Date: 24th Nov 2024 Author: Josh Diamond
Are you passionate about creating exciting and meaningful experiences for young people in Scouting? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our County Programme Team and help support leaders and young people in delivering high-quality programmes across Cheshire.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a real impact on Scouting at a County level. Whether you’re an experienced leader or someone keen to step up your involvement, we’d love to hear from you if you have an interest in:

  • Supporting District Programme and 14-24 Teams and Sections with delivering balanced, fun programmes for all sections, and implementing programme changes, such as new badges and activities, to help young people achieve Top Awards.
  • Promoting, supporting and celebrating Top Awards, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Young Leaders, and YouShape Awards so both District Programme and 14-24 Teams have the chance to create amazing experiences.
  • Support all Sections to deliver projects where all young people can have a positive impact in the community.
  • Organising County Programme events (camps, activity days, challenges), and make sure they’re accessible to all.
  • Set up networking and peer support at County scale so District Programme, 14-24 and Section Teams can share best practice across the County.

What does volunteering look like?

As part of the Programme Team, you’ll work closely with District programme teams and Team Cheshire, supporting Section Leaders in delivering impactful and engaging local activities. Whether helping to create large-scale events or ensuring the smooth running of local programmes, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the Scout experience for young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
