Are you passionate about creating exciting and meaningful experiences for young people in Scouting? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our County Programme Team and help support leaders and young people in delivering high-quality programmes across Cheshire.
We’re expanding our County Programme Team and have several exciting opportunities available, with flexible roles to match your interests and experience.
Roles Available
14–24 Team Leader
Overseeing Explorers, Network, and Young Leaders. This is an exciting time to get involved, with a new Explorer Programme being rolled out this year and Network provision continuing to develop across the county.
14–24 Team Member
Supporting Explorer and/or Network programmes, helping to shape engaging opportunities for young people aged 14–24.
4–14 Team Member
Supporting programme delivery across the younger sections, helping ensure fun, balanced, and high-quality programmes for all.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a real impact on Scouting at a County level. Whether you’re an experienced leader or someone keen to take the next step in your volunteering journey, we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in any of the following:
- Supporting District Programme and 14–24 Teams to deliver balanced, fun, and inclusive programmes across their sections.
- Supporting the role of of the new Explorer Programme coming in May 2026
- Helping implement programme developments, including new badges and activities, enabling young people to achieve their Top Awards.
- Support all Sections to deliver projects where all young people can have a positive impact in the community.
- Organising County-level programme events such as camps, activity days, and challenges, ensuring they are accessible to all
- Creating opportunities for networking and peer support so District Programme, 14–24, and Section Teams can share best practices across the county
What does volunteering look like?
As part of the County Programme Team, you’ll work closely with District Programme Teams and Team Cheshire, supporting Section Leaders to deliver engaging and impactful local programmes. Whether you’re helping to shape large-scale county events or supporting local delivery and development, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the Scouting experience for young people. We recognise that volunteering capacity looks different for everyone, and roles can be shaped to fit around the time and energy you’re able to give.
