Four Cheshire Scouts Volunteers Awarded MBEs in King’s Birthday Honours

We are thrilled to share that four incredible volunteers from Cheshire Scouts have been awarded MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025. Each has been recognised for their exceptional dedication to young people and their local communities.

Jack Caine – MBE

Role: UK Commissioner for People (Scouts UK); Scout Leader, 1st Tarporley, Cheshire
Citation: Awarded an MBE for services to Young People.
Jack plays a vital national role supporting thousands of volunteers across the UK. Through his leadership in volunteer care, training, and wellbeing, he’s helping to shape a stronger, more inclusive Scouts movement for everyone.

Neil Dutton – MBE

Role: Group Lead Volunteer, Dane Valley Scout Group; Chair, Congleton Scout & Guide Liaison Committee
Citation: Recognised for services to Young People and the community in Congleton, Cheshire.
Neil has been instrumental in growing and strengthening Scouting in Congleton, encouraging collaboration across Scouts and Guides, and championing opportunities for every young person to thrive.

Marjorie Dutton – MBE

Role: Akela (Cub Scout Leader), Dane Valley Scout Group, Congleton
Citation: Honoured for services to Young People and the community in Congleton, Cheshire.
Marjorie has given decades of warm, compassionate leadership to Cub Scouts in Dane Valley. Her calm presence and dedication have guided generations of young people through their first steps in Scouting.

Ian Potts – MBE

Role: Former District Commissioner, South West Cheshire Scouts; Group Lead Volunteer, 26th South West Cheshire
Citation: Awarded for services to Young People.
Ian has been a driving force behind Scouting across South West Cheshire. Whether leading strategy, supporting volunteers, or directly guiding his own group, his impact is felt across the district and beyond.

Celebrating a Legacy of Service

Each of these volunteers embodies the very best of Scouting—generous with their time, passionate about helping others, and always putting young people first. Their MBEs are a well-deserved recognition of the lives they’ve touched and the communities they’ve strengthened.
