Meet The YL Team
County Explorer Leaders (Young Leaders)
Cheshire’s County Explorer Scout Leaders (Young Leaders) are responsible for supporting each district’s provision of Young Leaders and developing the experience, efficiency and ultimately sustainable growth of YL’s across Cheshire.
They will work closely with each Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leaders) in their remit to strengthen communication channels, collaborate on training and help develop the County’s Explorer Scout cohesion strategy.
Cheshire’s CESL (YL)s will provide active support regarding training and mission work within sections but will also be looking to achieve sustainable growth in Young Leader numbers in line with the UK Scout Association’s 2023 vision.

Explorer Scout Leaders (Young Leaders) – ESL (YL)s
Each district should have at least one leader who is in charge of managing the workings, training and quality of the Young Leader scheme. This leader should provide leadership, management and support across your district along with specialised support in areas like sectional/adult support, County communications and safety. They will work within a team of people alongside your District Explorer Scout Commissioner and Administrator. It is the role of the County Explorer Leaders (Young Leaders) to oversee their work and progress.
